A 22-yr-old male with a degree in Political Science, I am also about to finish a diploma in Public Relations. A steadfast realist and diehard cynic, I take a no-nonsense approach to life and when evaluating my actions. With experience in men’s fashion, bartending, security, public relations and writing, I’m no stranger to the differing opinions people hold on life and how to approach it. This is just as true when it comes to the traits different people attribute to being a gentleman. I’ve come across suave salesmen, charming bartenders, gruff handymen, brutish security guards, and so much more during my work.
But the truth is that none of these personas can lay claim on their own to what is entailed in the word ‘gentleman’. Instead, the word is an intricate web of traits and behaviour, that will take any man more than a single lifetime to completely understand or absorb. But I’m here to share what brief insight and wisdom I’ve gained on the topic the hard way, by screwing up repeatedly and stumbling through life attempting to be a man with class. So stick with me, and take a minute now and again to read some of the lessons learned by just another guy fighting the good fight. Because if I can help even a few of the male gender avoid a few of the pitfalls I’ve obliviously walked into, then I will be a happy man!
